This project involves the creation of a new innovative building complex and the redevelopment of an industrial area of over 25,000 square metres dating back to the 1950s. The intervention focused on both architecture and a broader urban scale, with the aim of reconnecting the area to its surrounding context, reintegrating it into the urban fabric and improving the overall quality of the neighbourhood. The facades of the three new buildings, designed to convey the concept of innovation, feature a series of golden flaps alternating with glass transparency in a lively and vibrant sequence of volumetric movements. The unifying theme of the intervention is the “Sign”, a transparent fracture running along the facades of the buildings and continuing into the paving of the Smart Square, which the buildings overlook. This causes the stone flooring to take on a darker colour, highlighted by a luminous vein made of recessed LEDs. The architecture and the central square of 4,000 square metres, cooled by the presence of trees and rich in technological features, are conceived as a recognisable symbol of the urban landscape.
