Restoration of Palazzo Marino Façades

The planned restoration involves all the exterior façades of Palazzo Marino, a building of great value dating back to the mid-sixteenth century that is now the location of Milan’s City Hall and the interior façades on the Cortile d’Onore, with the original elements dating back to the sixteenth century of the portico and loggia.

Hit by World War II bombing and partially rebuilt after 1943, it preserves the 16th-century facades in the Cortile d’Onore, with “Ceppo gentile del Brembo” and “Ceppo mezzano” sedimentary stone as well as the exterior ones. The latest restoration work conducted on the building, with interior fittings and decorations in some rooms, dates from 1998 to 2002.
